Menorca has nearly as many beaches as Ibiza and Majorca combined, so there’s no shortage of places to laze on the sand. Arenal d’en Castell is just twenty minutes transfer time from the capital Mahon, and is a brilliant family resort. In common with many of Menorca’s resorts, the beach is a horseshoe-shaped cove with white sand and clear blue water that’s very safe for swimming. All inclusive Cala Galdana holidays are great value. As well as all the beach activities and facilities you’d expect from a modern holiday resort, Cala Galdana is perfect for those with restless kids to entertain – the shady paths through the cliffs around the resort are great to explore, and lead to small coves all around. Punta Prima, in the far south of the island is one of the most established resorts in Menorca, and is s good choice for water-sports fans, with equipment easily available to hire from the beach.
Menorca holidays are all about lazing on the beach all day, and enjoying a relaxing meal at night time. Much of the evening entertainment in many resorts is based around the hotels, making all-inclusives a good choice, as you won’t be missing out on the action by staying in your hotel bar. When you want to venture further afield, the capital Mahon makes a good choice for a Spanish-style night out, with lots of small tavernas and live music.
